As with many of us, David’s model flying started when he was a teenager, with control lines and rubber bands in England. RC flying for the first time was in the 80’s as a member of the Ft.Worth Thunderbirds in Texas, where he finally became an American, and more importantly to his friends---a Texan! This third time around, he was inspired by his son Matthew to fly with him during his visits to Atlanta.
He is a veteran of the Simulation and Training Industry, and has had opportunities to fly many of the real aircraft for which his companies have made flight simulators—including B-747, DC-8, Airbus A320, and others. He is currently a part-time consultant to the US Army, helping them use simulation for training combat medics and using virtual reality for therapy and rehabilitation.

David and Valerie moved to North DeLand from Orlando two years ago and are very happy to have found new friends at the
Deland Golden Hawks.
